Well... welcome to Sagebrush.
I'm Nicole, and since you're here, I figured I should probably tell you how this whole thing happened.
Back in 2021, Sagebrush was never supposed to be more than a side business. I was still working full-time behind the chair as a hairstylist, raising a young family, and thought selling a little retail on the side would simply be fun.
Turns out... I was wrong.
What started with a handful of carefully chosen pieces slowly grew into something I couldn't stop thinking about. Every time I told myself, "I'll just add a little more," I did. A few more products became a few more shelves. A few more shelves became late nights. Late nights became dreaming about what Sagebrush could be if I gave it a real chance. Somewhere along the way, the side hustle became the dream.
By 2025, I realized my heart had shifted. As much as I loved my years doing hair, I wanted to know what would happen if I gave Sagebrush my full attention. From the outside, leaving a steady career to run a boutique in a small town probably didn't make much sense.
If you've ever looked at a decision and thought, "Well... this is either going to be the best idea I've ever had or a spectacular disaster," you'll understand.
There are still days I wonder what I got myself into... but I wouldn't trade it.
By the beginning of 2026, Sagebrush had outgrown the retail space I'd carved out next to my salon. When the neighboring space became available, we knocked down the wall and expanded. One minute it felt like a side business, and the next it had become the entire storefront.
What hasn't changed is why I started.
Life already gives us enough decisions to make. Shopping shouldn't be one of the hard ones.
That's why I say "no" a whole lot more than I say "yes." Every piece has to earn its place. If I wouldn't wear it, gift it, decorate my own home with it, or recommend it to a friend, it doesn't make the cut. There are plenty of places to buy more stuff. My hope is that Sagebrush helps you buy the right stuff.
Whether you're stopping by downtown Ritzville, shopping from your couch across the country, or just browsing because you were curious, I'm genuinely glad you're here.
Thanks for supporting this little dream. I truly can't wait to see where it goes next.
See you around the shop,
- Nicole
